Tess in Sport Relief trip - Jan 31 2008
Tess Daly has torn herself away from co-presenter Bruce Forsyth in aid of Sport Relief.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter travelled to Bangladesh ahead of the annual fundraiser, and met children who have benefited from the campaign for vulnerable people in the UK and the world’s poorest countries.

Tess, 36, visited a centre that provides food, shelter and education for youngsters who live on the streets of Dhaka, Bangladesh’s capital.

Nasima, aged just 11, was among the children she met.

When Tess returns home, she will be reunited with Bruce, 79, to front a Strictly for Sport Relief special.

The show will feature Matt Dawson, Elaine Paige, Darren Gough, David Ginola, Denise Lewis, Mark Ramprakash and Kara Tointon.

It will form part of a night of entertainment on Friday March 14 on BBC1, ahead of Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile.

Recently Tess was the only woman to feature in a poll of the top 10 most watched TV presenters in 2007.

Television presenter Vernon Kay has spoken of his delight after wife Tess Daly gave birth to a daughter. Vernon said of 7lb 13oz Phoebe Elizabeth: "She is the most beautiful thing we’ve ever seen."
Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess, 33, gave birth at a London hospital. A spokesman said: "Mother and baby are doing really well." Vernon, who is also a BBC Radio 1 presenter, said: "We’re overjoyed and so excited." The couple, who wed a year ago, now plan to quit their West London flat for a bigger home in the country.

Tess Daly has announced that she and husband Vernon Kaye are expecting a baby.

The TV presenter joins a number of celebrities who are expecting or have recently given birth and is said to be ecstatic about the news. Tess and model turned presenter Vernon were married last September and clearly got to work pretty quickly as their new arrival is due this October. Tess told The Sun "this is the best news ever."

Tess Daly and Vernon Kay are totally suited for eachother - both host and present children’s / generation x shows and both areso incredibly tall! The good looking pair shuned a traditional celebrity showbiz wedding, opting instead to marry in a local church in the village Vernan grew up in - Horwich. In fact, they turned down magazine deals so they could have a down to earth ceremony.

The only splash of showbiz was that the bride and groom both wore white - Tess looked stunning in a white strapless dress by Marina Adanou and Jimmy Choo sandals, while Vernon wore a white suit by Alexandre Savile Row.

Among the guests at the wedding were fellow presenters Brian Dowling and June Sarpong. Tess and Vernon drove off in a camper van after the ceremony and headed for their reception at Rivington Barn, with DJ Brandon Block providing the ’choons. Congratulations guys!
