Opus 1 @ Radisson Edwardian Hotel

My Boyf had booked this hotel and restaurant as a surprise for me as I always wanted to try it. What surprised me was the rude staff, appalling food and overall disgusting experience we had there.We had booked for 9pm and the restaurant had only 3 tables full. The waitress who seated us was rude and very short in her manner and after she had left us ignored us for the rest of the evening despite standing close to us for most of it. The waiter got our drink order wrong and took ages to come back and let us order food. Although I don't eat red meat they brought our ham as an appetiser and we had to send it back. The bread was dry and teasteless, the starter horrible and the mains came cold. Again we waited ages to order dessert even though at this point we were the only customers left in there. THe actual desserts took so long to arrive we gave up and asked for them to be sent to our room upstairs. We complained on check out the next morning and were promised a telephone call from the manager to discuss it (we also had problems with the room and room service) but he or she has never bothered to call us.If you are considering the hotel the rooms are lovely but eat elsewhere!!

" Definitely one of Manchester's top dining destinations. Black crocodile skin hide furniture anyone? The surroundings are delicious, dramatic red velvet walls, high ceilings and antique gold wall coverings give this a sense of occasion. Several menus provide either a light grazing experience or the full menu is loaded with delicious dishes that explore global cuisine. You?ll probably spot a celebrity or two here."
