The Attic

The Attic is a tiny venue, even by pub standards, but this is because it piggybacks on top of the Thirsty Scholar in the rafters of the railway arches under Oxford Road Station. Despite its size however, the Attic is a funky little shack dealing in a variety of nights. It has been known to handle live bands, most notably it is generally a chosen venue as part of the 'In The City' Manchester music festival, and doesn't appear to discriminate in the acts it chooses to host; I've seen many acts ranging from Jazz to Metal grace the tiny stage here, and seems to be a perfect size for an intimate gig. Regular club nights include Kindergarten, a well established house night using DJ's originating from Sankey's, and Monster Monster the sleazecore dance, electro/ rock clash night has been known to put in the occasional appearance here too. The Attic is a well-established and always friendly home to any style of music the club choose to acknowledge, and as such makes a great little low-key venue to strut your funky stuff in.
