A laid back chilled bar with a New York vibe and decoration. Big leather sofa’s to descend into and not many places in the Northern Quarter do table service, so it’s a nice touch that at simple you can be waited on hand and foot.
The first thing you notice when you get within Bacchanalia is the amazingly long bar. I’ve never eaten here but would not mind eating one or two of the bartenders. The drinks here are amazing. The crowd is little older and little smarter than some of the other bars I go to. But the impressive cocktail list keeps bringing me back, that a two cute bar men...
Very bohemian and free from some of the more pretentious Manc drinkers. Odd is my new fav bar of the moment. A prefect place to chill-lax with beers from Eastern Europe and too listen to great music.
Absolutely second to none, would recommend to anybody. Fab tapas and cocktails created by the knowledgeable barman. Although the main meals are on the expensive side, they couldn’t be faulted. The only downsides for me are that the tables are a little close together and the lighting bright.
All in all one of the best dining experience I’ve had in a long while.

Glossy glass pillars, chandeliers and comfy black leather seats, aesthetically its garish. The food is not cheap, be prepared to spend £50 a head for 2 courses on its Pan Asian menu. The food here is good though not amazing and though not amazing the it looks amazing. Well crafted nuggets of art on a plate. As you would expect from an Asian menu there is plenty of sea food on the menu, soft shell crab, seafood dumplings and sea bass and the like.
Somehow in all of the the bling and shine, it felt a little soulless to me. Split over three floors Ithaca is a brash addition to Manchester bar and restaurant scene.

Friday nights here are busy, The bar men are mixologists and like to demonstrate the fact, whirling bottles in a dizzying blur. The weekend starts at this juncture for the style conscious Manchester set, with an in-house DJ helping to whip things up, as the drinks start to flow. Great cocktails, great fun.
Choice is an award winning restaurant located in the beautiful Castlefield canal basin. Great for canalside dinning on a barmy summers evening. The food is some of the best in town, the la carte menu is not very expensive and comes in at under £15.
Hidden away Cuba Cafe is a small club filled with Cuban bric-a-brac and diverse Manc's sheltering from the bright bars of the Northern Quarter. Old radios, pictures, the picture of Che and instruments from the 40s & 50s, give this place a unique charm.
Cuba offers some of the best Salsa classes in Manchester throughout the week, and at the weekend the volume goes up a notch as it becomes a bijous bar and nightclub.
